Title: MRC decoder CV's
Post by: VTBob on January 01, 2008, 05:48:26 PM
I'm posting this in response to several folks asking me how I like the MRC mini-dcc sound decoder. Maybe some folks here can help me set these settings correctly so that my Climax & my 2-6-6-2 behave correctly.

Thanks,
Bob

Make sure CV 5 = highest value.  I'm fairly sure that the decoder does not reduce the power of the locomotive.

I have done so. but it cuts out all power at step 2. It won't register 14,28,or 128 speed steps. it seems to be under-powered & I really am unsure as to what to do.

I am using a NCE DCC ProCab system.

sound decoders can consume as much power as the engine .Check your power supply to make sure you have enough power for motive and sound. I experienced the same problem and solved the problem by increasing the power supply.
