Steam Engines:

Murdoch
Donald - Top Want
Douglas - Top Want
Arthur
Harvey
Molly
Rosie
Billy

Diesels:

Devious Diesel - Top Want
'Arry
Bert
Salty

Wagons:

Henrietta
Sodor Mail Vans
Breakdown Train
Hector to Horrid Hopper

These are just a few of my suggestions for new models, i expect that Murdoch will be released by Bachmann sometime in the near future seeing as Bachmann is working closely with HIT to produce some lovely models depicting the TV Series engines.

Good point with Murdoch, I personally think that the same goes for Arthur and Salty maybe Diesel too. :)

This isn't a wish list, it's a prediction:

Diesel
Duck
Mail Cars (For Percy or Thomas)
Quarry Trucks (For Mavis)
Henrietta (For Toby)

Murdoch is a fascinating engine for me, his valve gear is alot different compared to other standard 9F locomotives, most locos have stevenson link motion, and quite a few have the caprotti link motion, i think that is what Murdoch's is?

But if he does become available between next year, after Edward and Mavis, that will be something i would look forward to more than anything.

Very true ;D I would love to have a Bachmann Murdoch, even if the price will be expensive he will be worth it! :) Also those are great ideas you got there PRRthomas11.  I still think that Arthur will also fit in very well with the range.  :)

Well, everything wouldn't be released at once, it'd probably span across at least 5-15 years before Bachmann gets EVERY character/rolling stock released. Especially since the Thomas and Friends character range is expanding every year. Or Bachmann could drop the contract with HiT and discontinue the production of Thomas and Friends entirely, but hopefully that will never happen. I'd like to have Donald and Douglas before anything happens to drop the contract.     BOT :)

Post by: LastQ6 on January 05, 2008, 06:55:25 AM
I seriously doubt Bachmann will drop the contract with HIT, They have produced far too good models in the Thomas range to drop the contract now, so i for one hope that Bachmann will please continue to make such wonderfully detailed Thomas models for a good few years to come.

What I'd like to see:

Improved face, chassis and front couplings on Thomas, Percy and James (DCC Ready).

A Bachmann Henrietta, would sell well as she goes with Toby.

A Bachmann Stanley, could use same chassis as an Improved Thomas. (see above)

A Bachmann Whiff, if Bachmann are careful, they could re-use the Emily chassis.

The Red Coaches, as seen in various episodes, the ones that look like Annie, they could use the Annie tooling with face removed. An easy one for Bachmann.

A joint venture between Faller and Bachmann where they make a Faller Road Compatible Bertie, along with Elizibeth and Sir Topham Hatt's Car.

On the subject of the Fat Controller, a HO scale version would be good!

I'm not too picky, but I've still got a few suggestions.

-A faceless Annie/Clarabel would be very easy, seeing that there is already a faceless mould of the exact design currently used for Emily's coaches.

-We could MAJORLY do with some more closed vans. It excited me to see the Salt and Cattle wagons released this year, what with Bachmann finally straying from freight stock limited to open wagons and tankers. There are many good moulds in the Bachmann Branchline collection that would fit in perfectly. A Sodor Mail Van and matching Flying Kipper van might require a new mould; I don't think there's any made with bogies, all I've seen are four wheelers.

-Everyone's clamoring for a Henrietta, myself included. This'd be the first ready-to-run W&U coach available if they made one. If you're going to make a Toby, why not add a Henrietta to go with him?

That's all from me. I'm not particularly picky on which engines they make, but I think Diesel would be a good seller.

It would be cool to have the Thomas people in HO size instead of oversized.
Title: Re: Suggestions for next models:

An easy one would be Wilbert:

The moulding exists in the UK Junior range, and uses the Thomas chassis.

One of these for E-Z Track, as it is more british:

A coal box does sound like a good idea Jack. ;)

Also as much as I would like to see Wilbert be done by Bachmann and how easy it would be to make, I don't really see it happening for these two reasons:

1.  Bachmann mainly focuses on TV Series models then RWS.

2.  Even if they did focus more on RWS, he wouldn't be as successful of a model because Wilbert isn't really noticed so much in the US.

But then again I think at this point we might as well just wait and see. ;)

It'd be the same story as Wooden Railway Wilbert in the US. I have it, and know who he is.  :P

Of course us older fans know about Wilbert, I was talking about the younger fans of Thomas who aren't old enough to be on forums and not to mention don't have the wooden or Ertl Wilbert. ;)

Same here, plus the Bach-man is good at surprising us, and as I have said we might never know when something like that will happen. ;)

By the way, only the front van of The Flying Kipper(the one that looks like the
mail vans) had 8 wheels. The rest were shorter and 4-wheeled.I just checked.
Now,a Flying Kipper set would have to be a big one. It'd have to include not
just Henry and The Flying Kipper, but the siding and the other train(no engine
needed, you never did see whose train it was).

I’m all for Donald and Douglas, and probably Devious Diesel too. Also, some other suggestions:
Bill/Ben
Harvey
Oliver
Toad
Stepheny (or however you spell his name)
More rolling stock (maybe with removable loads)
Breakdown Crane
Duck
Old Coach (From the Cranky Bugs video/DVD)
and Diesel 10 (claw opens/closes when he moves)
Oh, and maybe interchangeable faces like mad, worried, sad, and stuff like that

~Styntwin409 (formerly Justin, but I doubt any of you remember me)

Exactly. :P There was when Henry crashed during the first time, when Duck collided with a van at the back of the train when its lamp fell off, and then when James was able to take The Flying Kipper while Henry was away.
what was that story called?

Title: Re: Suggestions for next models:

Hmm... I dunno, they are kind of Mavis-sized, and Mavis costs like $40, so the 2-pack would cost about $80... but that's just my input. What do you think about it?

Somewhere along those lines, or maybe less.  I'm not totally sure at this point but from the looks of things, I don't really see Arry and Bert being sold in a 2 pack by Bachmann, but that's just me.

Well I REALLY want a Bachmann Duck, Oliver, Toad, Donald, Douglas, Isabel (Oliver's Autocoach, unlikely to be made since she isn't in the T.V. series) Diesel, Diesel 10, Lady, Bill & Ben 2 - Pack, Splatter & Dodge 2 - Pack (Most unlikely since they only appeared in Thomas & The Magic Railroad before they were turned into Arry and Bert), Arry & Bert 2 - Pack, Boco, Daisy, Derek, Hector The Horrid, Old Slow Coach, new buffers from the Thomas Episode Happy Ever After, Freight Vans (the small box cars), Happy Ever After Set (Includes E-Z Oval track, Happy Ever After Decorated Thomas, Happy Ever After Decorated Percy, Happy Ever After Decorated Old Slow Coach, Happy Ever After Decorated Borrowed flatbed w/ new buffers, Church Building, Old Engine Shed, Bride and Groom mini figures, and track transformer (Track Controller)), and a Brendam Docks Set (includes Cranky, ships, boats, troublesome trucks, Freight Vans, Salty, Diesel, and Thomas.)

Did Splatter and Dodge really get turned into Iron 'Arry and Iron Bert? I never knew that, but I guess it makes since because they're the same shape and everything...

Also, the  buffers would be a good idea, but how about they had the ability to be stuck on the end of tracks so they're the Thomas & Friends kind of buffers instead of the regular ones? That's just my idea. =)

wrong.
Look at these pics from the TV show:
