Hi,
I'm the proud new owner of a model #81901 Unlettered 3 Truck Shay. I have a new dcc decoder winging its' way to me and would appreciate your advice on the best way to open the tender in order to access the dcc socket. The exploded drawing isn't too helpful and I really don't want to break anything.
I'd appreciate any advice you can provide. Thanks............Rick
Rick:
1. Remove plugs between tender and locomotive.
2. Remove screw from drawbar at tender.
3. You will now see a screw in the tender floor. Remove this, and tilt the tender up and back, and you're in.
