No problem....lol.

If you can't understand it....then you gotta ban it. Too freakin' funny.

I'll be good now Mr B.....you're only doing what a moderator should.

I proved my point.....I got the typical American, kneejerk reaction that was expected.

The rest of you need some education. There was absolutely nothing "malicious" about the whole thing. Just a little something to get you thinking about net security.

The principle behind the icon was no different than clicking this link..

www.whatismyip.com (http://www.whatismyip.com)

...which has been around for ages....and is not a "data mining" site as some of the more paranoid would have you think. It started out as a resource for gamers back in the day when it wasn't as easy to figure out your IP#.

If you have a properly secured computer, then nothing like that should even ruffle a feather. But, if you don't know a whit about net security and surf unguarded, then you deserve whatever you get.

It's the computer illiterate that actually perpetuate viruses. A properly configured machine stops it in it's tracks.

Peace and hair grease,

Sid

That's actually kind of ironic you say that.....the screen name I use for online gaming and racing is BadActor.  ;D

If any of you ever played Tiger Woods 05 or 07 for the PC, you probably came across me as BadActor27. I finished out last December ranked 6th overall in Tiger 07.

What does it matter? Its not going to kill you.  Sure it will take up an itty-bitty piece of bandwith, but does it really matter that much. Your wasting more in your complaining post, and my response to your complaining post than he did...

Chug
Congratulations.  You just won the award for the least amount of capitalization, punctuation,  and otherwise breaking every rule of English grammar and sentence structure.  In other words:
HUH!!!
LOL

Actually, most of his errors are in mechanics.  The major grammatical error is the run on sentence(s) - if it can be called a sentence since it makes little sense.  I'm begtting CHUG is between 12 and 14 years old.

My grandson is 14 . When you can read his writing his grammar is sure better most of it in this forum. With computers who needs to know how to write.

Were the four errors, not including the rather archaic dialect usage deliberate or intentional?  I'd say four errors in nine words is a bit excessive if unintended, wouldn't you?

Don - a computer is a tool - like an automobile or table saw. It cannot think, express ideas or compose sentences with grammatically correct syntax.

If your grandson writes well using a computer it is because he has been taught some of the basics of using the English language.

A big problem occuring today is the lack of emphasis on handwriting in schools. People feel that a word processor can replace handwriting. They forget that learning penmanship helps little children develop fine motor skills and that is helpful in doing things like working on models.

Deliberate. At least you guys don't have to read my handwriting.  :)

Computers don't make mistakes on their own . It is the attachment of someones brain via their fingertips that makes the errors.

Isn't that the idea behind the old statement "garbage in, garbage out"? Worse than spelling and grammar, people bring up & use faulty info feed into the works years ago, are now just propagating it. Not correct, just... the only thing that comes up on google...sad situation huh?? I like the way these kids are scanning B&W shots of steam, feeding it into the web, some 'historical sites' "have photograghs going back to the beginings of digital camera technology"....big deal....
