Title: Soundtraxx DSD LC decoder line
Post by: hminky on February 23, 2007, 11:34:04 AM
I just got this from Litchfield Station about the DSD-090LC and DSD-100LC's:

"The long await arrival of DSD090-LC and some DSD100LC decoders from SoundTraxx has happened. We currently have stock on all the following part numbers, which have been delayed due to parts issues:

820060
820061
820062
821101
821102
821103
821200
821210
821220
821230
821240
821250
Now for the bad news - continuing parts challenges have led SoundTraxx to discontinue these parts. What we have in stock at Litchfield Station is all we are going to get. There are no available replacements from SoundTraxx.

If you have a project planned using one of these decoders, you best order now to avoid disapointment - stock currently ranges from 4 pieces to 1 piece!"

That includes the decoder for the Bachmann On30 Climax and Shay

The good news is that they will still be making the 101LC decoders.

They are plug "N" play, and have separate volume controls for the
various sounds.

They shouldn"t be hard to install in the shay & climax.

They are also less expensive.

The DSC-LC package for the Shay and Climax were specifically designed to be hidden in the tender area. The DSD-101LC doesn't really fit and doesn't have exhaust cam support. The DSD-090LC had ehaust cam support.

I just received a Soundtraxx DSD-090LC #821250 from Tony's Trains. This is the DCC/Sound decoder for a "Goose" which I installed in my Bachmann ON30 railcar. Try Tony's for another source of Soundtraxx decoders.
