Title: Has anyone installed a QSI DDC controller in a Connie?
Post by: Jeepersinco on February 28, 2008, 07:13:05 PM
Has anyone installed a QSI DDC controller in a Connie? I had St Aubin install one in my K-27 and want to stick with the same board for the Connie.

I'm new to DCC and would like to stick with the same board in both to decrease the learning curve.

Thanks,
Jim

Not yet, but will do my Annie that way, have an NCE in it. Really pretty easy, get the "magnum" adapter of course. Use the auto-chuff, it works great, so no magnets... I would put the decoder in the boiler if possible, and then run back to the speaker in the tender.

I misread your message about installing a QSI in a Connie. I don't have a Connie sorry.

I installed a QSI system in a K-27 and an Aristo Mallet and both systems are working well but I need to get the chuff's to 4 on the K-27, they are presently at 6 chuffs per revolution. David at St. Aubins said to bring the unit in and he would set the chuffs at 4 for me. Both systems are working well on our garden railroad. I have only had about three runs so far due to the snow and ice in Northern, IL.

Elwin:

I'm guessing you are using the QSI "autochuff" and not the Bachmann chuff electronics?

(If you just plugged the QSI in, that's the default condition).

Just wanting confirmation.
