Title: What type of power pack for On30 (assume the kind for HO?)
Post by: dieseldan on March 25, 2008, 01:34:15 PM
So I have my beautiful new Spectrum engine, a few cars, and a nice circle of track my 5 year old is letting me borrow. (I had to promise Percy and Thomas they could have it right back) but before I hook up the wires I have the ultimate Newbie question--- what kind of power pack should I use?

I'm assuming that any HO power pack (including the one that came with my son's Thomas set from Bachmann) will do?

After you get done laughing, any help would be appreciated!  ;)
Thanks!

Bachmann currently supply the same pack with HO and ON30 sets, i.e. the ones with a separate wall power supply and a speed controller with a big button in the middle. These have an output of 0.7 amp and are adequate for a small ON30 set up such as you describe. For a large set up you may need a better power supply.

Thank You! I didn't want to burn up my engine on it's maiden run!
