Title: Changing the sound on my Tsunami 2-8-0 Connie
Post by: sparkyjay31 on May 09, 2008, 01:10:19 PM
My 2-8-0 has a factory installed Tsunami.  Is there a way of changing the horn and bell sounds?  I cannot find the info anywhere in the documents that came with it.  I like the factory ones, but I am curious as to what else "is in there".

From what I have found out, not all sounds are adjustable, (CVs) and the amount of sounds are limited as compared to the Tsunami decoder you buy and install yourself.

I have the spectrum Russian Decapod 2-10-0 with the Tsunami decoder and while i not sure the bell tone can be changed it does have 3 whistles to choose from.
Would assume the Connie is the same.

The decoder with sound installed by Bachmann USA is their OEM decoder using Tsunami technology developed by SoundTraxx. It is not the Tsunami decoder sold by SoundTraxx.

The following PDF is the information Bachmann USA has made available about their decoder with sound.

Sparky,

As far as I know....there is no way to change a bell sound.   There is a CV,  114,  used to change the rate of the ring.   The lower the value,  the slower it rings.   As for the whistle,  that is CV 115,  but since the "Tsunami" used in the Bachmann engines is not a true,  full blown Tsunami,  then you may not have the 5 or 6 whistle selections that I have in the 2-8-0s that I have.  You may only have 1 or 2 selections.

What are the "F" Codes?  I have numbers on my NCE Power Cab that operate the sounds, but nothing with an "F".  Is that a Bachmann dcc thing?

The "F" is used to denote that we are referring to functions, as opposed to address numbers.
F-13  would be function 13.
