Title: Mr Bachmann, Digitrax Sound Bug In 2-8-0
Post by: wally on June 11, 2008, 02:07:05 PM
Mr.Bachmann
Can you use a digitrax sound bug with the decoder that came in my Bachmann 2.8.0? Can you please tell me where the decoder is installed in the Bachmann 2-8-0? Thanks for your help.

The decoder is in the Tender. You can have a look if you get the coal load out (might be a bit tight like mine, dont worry, nothing broke).

This means it would be easier to just use its current decoder for something else and install a digitrax sound decoder instaid. As there is plenty of room.

Well, thats my plan anyway.

To get any type of sound system into the Connie tender, you have to remove the temder shell. Turn the tender over and remove the two screws in the front corners.
The shell will then lift, and unhook at the back. You will now have all the room you need to get a sound decoder and speaker/speakers installed. ;D
