Post by: lucy 1 on July 30, 2008, 03:58:41 PM
Hi , has anyone out there repaired the subject clock?
The one I have does not play the, on the hour sound.
You can hear the click but no sound. Fresh batteries
have been installed.

Charles,
Yes it does have two sets of batteries.
  2 AA for the clock
  3 C's for the sound
  All are brand new.

Not every brand new battery is a good battery.  Before you junk your clock, try another new set.

Also try cleaning the contacts where the battery meets the metal.  Sometimes corrosian can occur.

If there is a diagram, make sure the batteries are installed correctly. If the C cells are in a row they will be oriented the same way, but if side by side they may be alternate orientation, like in a camera.

Hi Folks,
The train clock is working again. Using all of your
suggestions, the problem was elminated. It was
the C batteries. I hooked up a power pack that
has a volt & amp meter put in 4 volts and the
sound returned big time.
Thank you all for your help.
