Title: Bachmann and Märklin
Post by: andreas on August 08, 2008, 03:50:08 PM
Dear all

I'm from Denmark. And I am craxy with Thomas the Tank Engine and all his friends.
I have learned that Bachmann has a very nice collection of electrical Thomas items. My question is: Can Bachmanns trains run on Märklin tracks? My father has been a Märklin collector in his youth so we have tons of Märklin tracks.

Thanks

Andreas

Andreas :  Guten Tag oder bester Guten Abend .  I'm afraid your Marklin track  won't  work with Bachman Trains .  Marklin uses  AC to power it's locomotives  and  Bachman  uses  either  DC  or DCC  to power its locomotives . There maybe rail insulation issues.

Dear Andreas,
To add to that, our trains use two rail pickup; Maarklin uses (or used) three.
Have fun!
