Title: Bachman / Williams E7
Post by: Pop Pop Choo Choo on August 24, 2008, 03:57:42 PM
My railroad is two-rail scale (DC / no third rail) How difficult is conversion of a Backman / Williams E7 to two rail operation? Are replacement wheels (without traction tires) available? I have done this with Lionel post war diesels. The process, I assume, would be similar.

Hello,

We do not have any conversion kits for two rail.  We should have some wheels without traction tires available in our service department.  The flanges are usually too big for scale track.

What is the degree of difficulty with wheel removal/rebore/insulate/press on original axle? How difficult to insulate trucks from frame? Has anyone ever attempted this conversion?
