Title: lighted station w/e-z track pier set
Post by: cbush on August 31, 2008, 02:22:41 PM
How do you connect the wiring for the lighted station on the 14 piece E-Z track pier set?  Assembly instructions don't address how/where to connect wiring.  Thanks!

Building lights can be wired back to your power pack, if it has ac accessory terminals.  If it does not, or if you are using DCC, then you will need a separate source of power, either another power pack or a "wall wart" type supply.  If you go with the wall wart, look for one rated 12 volts, either ac or dc, and 1 amp.  Then you will have plenty of power to light some more buildings in the future.  Note that even if you are using a power pack with accessory terminals, a separate supply for lighting is a much better way to go.  The building lights do not rob power from the train and operation of the train does not cause the building lights to flicker.  Those of us who have really got into trains usually have at least three power sources.  The third one is used to operate switch motors.
