Title: Mt Washington cog railway
Post by: richG on September 29, 2008, 11:54:57 AM
If any of you ever make it to New England, try to get to the cog railway on Mt Washignton in NH.
The cog railway now has a bio diesel locomotive.

I won't go unless it's steam.  Same with grand canyon railroad. Otherwise its a complete waste of time and money.

Right now the diesel is really a non issue as more than one engine is in use depending on the amount of visitors. I have seen as many as three engines in use.
Passing siding information.

I can understand everyone's passion for steam, but I still find the excursions enjoyable, even with a diesel.

When you cross Devil's Gate at Georgetown, you forget what's up front. Of course it is very convenient for us, on the way to Denver.
