Title: Bachmann Mini Water Pump
Post by: ken_nj on October 08, 2008, 10:07:36 PM
I am trying to find a mini type water pump that runs on 3-12v DC. The spec page for this pump does not specify the voltage. Please tell me this will run on DC?!?! I'm looking for a pump to put in a RC model boat that will act as a bilge pump. The inlet will draw water into the pump from below the waterline, then expel it out ports above the waterline. If this does not run on DC, do you know of any small pumps that do? Oh and if this does run on DC, what size tubing does it use?

Thanks!!

Dear Ken,
I haven't seen one in some time, but, as I recall, it runs on 12 volts DC.
Have fun!

Check the Micro Mark website . I believe that they have a couple.

I'm not sure what size you need but the windshield washer pumps for just about any Japanese car built in the last 20 years will work on 12 vdc. They are pretty small. They should be pretty cheap at pull it yourself salvage yard.

I use a windscreen washer pump on 6v in a Fire boat---enough power to give a 4 ft. jet on the fire monitor.  Old VWs had 6v. system if you can find one.
Boat chandlers have small pumps to power the fresh water system.
