Title: EZ Mate Mark II - compatible???

I'm really new to this...are the EZ mate mark II couplers compatible with the original EZ Mate couplers???

Yes they are compatible. They are both knuckle-couplers. They are also compatible with kadee couplers .  Good Luck. J2

Good Morning,

        All knuckle couplers on the market today,  except for those by a company called Sargent,  are compatible.
        In your post you mentioned the "original EZ Mate" coupler.   These are the EZ Mate I couplers and need to be trashed as soon as possible.   They have a major flaw and that is the fine plastic "cat's whisker" that helps to hold the knuckle closed.    These whiskers are easily mishapened so that they no longer do what was intended and then you have constant uncoupling of cars.
         This is also the same problem with the original couplers offered from McHenry.    So,  if you are going to buy plastic couplers look to see that there are brass coiled springs on the knuckles like the ones employed by Kadee.
        The best thing to do is get the Kadee line if you can.   They are metal and offer the most variety for different applications.
