Any basic track plan can be expanded or stretched, however you look at it, by adding extra straight pieces to make the layout longer or wider, adding a yard or siding or another loop with a crossover between the two loops, etc. The possibilities are endless.
The best way to experiment with various layouts is by using the Atlas "Right Track Software", a free program.
