Title: Bachmann On30 trolleys rail size & reversing
Post by: riny on December 19, 2008, 10:16:58 AM
1-Will the On30 individually purchased trolleys (not the Xmas set) also work on the reversing track system which comes with the trolley set?
- I can now answer my own #1 question for anyone else interested - yes (see message from ole, Aug '07). Still don't know about #2 below.

2-Also, will these trolleys work ok on  a 15" curve track (i.e., if a non-Bachmann system is used)?

Riny

The answer to #2 is yes, they will actually operate on much
smaller radii.

The reversing mechansim is in the shed and the track, not the trolley itself. This means any  motive power can be used with the reversing set, not just trolleys. The Bach Man used the electronics from the reversing set for the automatic mine shuttle in his Riley's Rub exhibition layout, with a Davenport shuttling back and forth.

   Hamish,
That's OK, we'll call that a fat finger mistake as the "b" & "n" are next to each other on the key board.

The trolley can run on any HO track.
Now if we could get Bachmann to make a On30 "Gandy Dancer" AKA
hand car that would be too cool.
