Title: 2 layout question
Post by: adari on January 25, 2009, 07:19:47 PM
I am finnally designing the trackplan for my Pennsylvania rr layout. Is there a way you can run 2 layouts using digitrax stuff. I want to run bothe of the ayouts without them being connected.

Yes, you can do just that.  The layouts do not have to be connected as far as track is concerned but do have to be connected electrically.

The two railroads do not have to be close together or even the same scale.  A  friends of mine has an H0 layout in the basement and a Large Scale layout outside in his back yard.  He runs the H0 directly off the booster built into his command station but uses an extra booster for the Large Scale.  Usually he runs one or the other, but when he has a train show, he and a helper run both layouts at the same time.  If he had say an N-scale layout plus an H0-scale layout, he would not need the extra booster.  You can use any of Digitrax's systems as long as it produces enough power to run all the trains you want to run at one time.
