Title: NCE DCC Power Cab - alternate function keys??
Post by: casper on February 19, 2009, 09:14:47 AM
Hi,

Does anyone know a simple explanation on how to access the alternate function keys for NCE DCC? My loco has cab lights and marker lights assigned to F11 and F12 and I am unable to turn the lights on. I would greatly appreciate any help. The normal keys work fine, F1 - F9, whistle , bell etc.

Thanks.

Casper

At the bottom of your power-cab, on the right side is a shift key

which will give you F10, F11, and F12 and many others .

It's in the manual page 20 .

Thanks Tim!

I had been trying to turn on the cab light on my loco using the shift and F12 button at the bottom of the cab and the light wouldn't come on. I finally figured out last night that my loco doesn't have a cab light...duh.
Would you by any chance have any info on using signals and switch indicators with the NEC system? I have Bchmann DCC switches and they seem to work fine but I'm having a hard time understanding what to buy as far as switch signals go and crossing signals.

Thanks very much for the help.

Casper,

Since you are using and NCE system, have you looked at the NCE web site?  They have some items for signaling.  I do not know if they will work with a Power Cab.

Also Tony's list several options on the Signals section of their web site.
