Please excuse me if this has been covered before, but I am curious as to why the F3 diesels are flat instead of glossy? Has anyone here safely clear coated the Texas Special?

Hi Ron,
It seems no matter what we do, we can't win on this subject. We first released locos in flat paint. Then we went to high gloss. We now are using a satin finish to try to please as many people as possible.
I have use both Testors gloss goat and Krylon Gloss coat without any problems. Just put it on in thin coats until you get the desired result.

Maybe WBB should use BOTH. On GM amd items like the UP Heritage, go glossy. The UP's are kept to a high shine.
On the TL, go semi-gloss or flat. Look nice, but you don't need sunglasses to see the units!
