Title: circuit boards for F3's?
Post by: Ron Sims on March 28, 2009, 11:39:30 PM
I bought a set of Golden Memories engines that has a bad circuit board that drives the motors. Do you send these in for repair or buy another from Bachman? These are not new.

Hi Ron,

Our service department can take care of this or you could order a replacement board.  If you decide to replace the board yourself, you may want to make sure that there are no mechanical jams in the drivetrain that caused the board failure or you will blow the new one as soon as it is installed.

3Rail,
Turns out I did not need a board. The flywheel on the front motor was rubbing down against the motor terminal wire connection on both sides. This shorted it out and blew the power brick breaker every time. I was able to bend the tabs down and file one of them a bit to make clearance. Runs great now! Those boards must be very durable.
