Title: Bachmann spectrum master?
Post by: jwoj69 on April 01, 2009, 04:15:47 PM
Does anyone heard of "Spectrum Master Series"
I just love spectrum, especially new spectrum line.
I know it used to be called Bachmann Plus.
I'm starting to see few diesels on ebay described as
"bachamn spectrum master series"
Is this like a short somehow custom run?
Is new design or old?

If anyone knows about it, please let me know.

It's just verbiage used by B'mann on their Spectrum line.

"Master Railroader Series"

I suspect the term is used along with "Spectrum" to differentiate the two product lines, "Standard" being the other.

AFAIK, the verbiage has always been on the Spectrum product line.

It's not something new.

The "Master Railroader Series "  lettering was most prevalent (i.e on the front of the box instead of on the back) on the EARLY  (late 90's) Spectrum models to differentiate them from the regular Bachman line, which up to that time had been, to be charitable, less than spectacular. What you are seeing on ebay are most probably the early Dash 8's (the ones in the flip-top box with the cardboard sleeve) which are of SIGNIFICANTLY lower quality than the current production Spectrum Dash 8's.....
