Title: Type V transformer

Interesting.

I've never seen one of these before.

Lionel Trainmaster 150 watt (AC) Type V.

Controls 4 trains.

Made a 0.7 watt N power pack leak all its electrolytes.

Most a pre-war transformer.  There was also a 250 volt version called the "Z".  A few were either made postwar, or carryovers from pprewar stock.  Newer transformers took over, having whistle and directional controls.  (Guess they used the "Z" concept for the "ZW".

I have a Type V 150. A friend of my dad's gave it to me back in the early 60's. I have replaced the carbon rollers. I only use it for acc. and lighting. Can't trust the breaker on the engines.
