Title: A great day riding a train
Post by: boomertom on April 04, 2009, 11:33:19 PM
My daughter and son-in-law took me to Busch Gardens Williamsburg today. Yes all those roller coasters.

The park includes a fantastic steam railroad encircling the park -open style steam locomotives, open air coaches. We rode in the first seat of the first coach.

;Listening to the chuff of the exhaust and whistle was a blast.  ;D

I might have to check out Bachmann England or Germany and add my own Heidelberg Express.

There are some very good park railroad accross the country.  Six flags over Texas, Silver dallor city, Mo. and Dolly wood part in Tenn.   Dolly  wood has 2 or 3 2-8-2s 3 ft gauge.  Silver Dallor city has some 0-4-0 German locomotives.  I think is either 2 foot or two and 1/2 foot gauge.  I think Six flags of Tx has some 2-6-0s.

Dear Friends,

Disneyland and Knott's Berry Farm near Anaheim, CA had beautiful steam train rides when last I was there, 1979.

I hope all is well with them.  Any recent experiences?

Best Wishes,

Jack
