Title: Digitrax decoder will not stay programmed to any address
Post by: Hooked on April 18, 2009, 06:43:49 PM
I have a Bachmann EZ Command controller with 2 Bachmann decoders and one Digitrax DH 123 decoder, that work great, my problem is with my new Digitrax DZ125 decoder.
It will not remember any address I tell it to, it will work great as long as I don't turn the power off.
As soon as I do that and then turn it back on the engine will not move, have to reassign the address again.
I took my engine HO 2-8-0 to my LHS where they have layout powered by NCE, everything worked great with the NCE controller.
Any ideas on what my problem might be?
Thanks

There are only two things that can be malfunctioning--the decoder or the EZ Command.  It doesn't seem to be the decoder.  Or it may be that neither component is malfunctioning--they're just having a disagreement.  Swap out the Digitrax decoder.  If a new decoder fixes the problem thank the electronic gremlins and go back to enjoying your railroad.  Sell the old decoder on e-Bay with a clear conscience.  After all it worked fine at your LHS.  Good Luck.
