Title: capacitor ??
Post by: Chris G on June 09, 2009, 06:38:44 PM
Hello,
???
I am putting a loksound decoder into my DCC ready Climax.
2 wires on the existing circuit board are very short and prevent the speaker and enclosure being fitted under the circuit board.
These 2 wires go to a small orange "thing" with a + and - terminal.
What does this thing do ???

Thanks,
Chris

Chris

It is a capacitor across the headlight, there is also one
on the backup light.

With the loco facing away from you.

The one for the headlight is just to the left of the 8 pin
header. The one for the backup light is at the rear center
of the board just above the half circle notch at the center
of the board.

You can add short lengths of wire to extend them to get the clearance you need.

Does this help?
