Hi, I've just purchased new Bachmann FTA,FTB units and Iwould like to close couple them,has anyone done this,any ideas
Kadee sell short shank couplers. That will decrease the distance between the two. What radii curves are you using?
A whole lot of the FT A and B sets were sold as a single "engine" semi-permanently coupled with a drawbar. So...you can legitimately couple yours with a drawbar and get them just as close as you'd like. The distance between the units should be about three feet. Hope this helps.

3 scale feet in HO is 0.413", or just under 7/16".

G'day,Iam using min 18",max 22"radius curves,the drawbar is a good idea and it would work ok and Iam thinking that I might remove the coupler pocket ,use a styrene shim and a Kadee #33 gear box.
