HO / manual switch causes derailment
November 26, 2011, 03:18:26 PM
I have an outside and inside loop track setup.  When the 2 manual switches are set to run the train on the outside track, everything works fine.  As soon as we change the manual switch to cause the train to go the inside loop, once it reaches the other switch track, it derails.  We have found that if we also switch that manual switch, then it will work.  However, because these are manual switches, it means we have to switch both at the same time, always.  Is this the design of the manual switch track?  On the return from the inside to the outside loop, that switch isn't being "activated" in the switch direction so it seems that the train should remain on the track no matter which direction that particular switch is set to.

I am using the HO EZ_Track.

hope this makes sense.  I appreciate any wisdom on this behavior.
thanks.
