I'm having issues with the main driveshaft of my shay spinning but the little gears on it seemed to have moved away from the gears on the wheels so now the shay won't move at all.  Is this something I can fix or is it something I need to send in?

HO / Re: Drawbar Question for the Bach Man

There is only one way for this drawbar to installed, I assume from the Bach Man's description this is the new one.  No matter what I do it still seems to short for my curves and I have 22 to 24 curves.  Heck my 4-8-4 goes around the curves better than this frustrating loco.

HO / Drawbar Question for the Bach Man
January 11, 2008, 03:44:52 PM
Hey Bach Man I got the spectrum 4-6-2 running that I asked you about a week ago.  My next question is there different lengths of drawbars that came with this model.  This is the spectrum model before factory sound.  Reason why I ask about drawbar length is the little fold down platform on the loco does not have enough room to fold down and on curves the loco and tender is close enough the push into each and cause the drivers to lift on the loco and the front truck on the tender to lift off the rails as well.
Thanks

I reset it to factory default, the sound decoder will let me change the adress turn the lights on and off and it makes all the sounds.  But when I apply throttle the train doesn't move, it makes the chuffing sound like it should be moving but yet it doesn't.  Which leads me to think that maybe a wire came loose on the motor itself, because I already investigated the tendor where the decoder is and all the wires are in tact with no issue.

HO / Spectrum 4-6-2 question for the Bach Man

Hey Bach Man or anyone else that has this loco, I have a question for ya.  I got one given to me with a tsunami sound decoder installed.  It has sound and lights but the loco does not run.  I suspect a wire on the motor maybe came loose.  What is the easiest way to get to the motor??  Also if I send it in for repair will my tsunami decoder be removed and just sent back with the new loco if the loco has to be replaced??  Thanks

Ok I have two questions.  First one is I bought this a engine a while back, it ran fine when I first got it.  I put it away until I installed my permanent layout.  I pulled it out to run it on the new layout and it acts like the gears on the wheels are slipping when the drive shaft gear is trying to spin them.  Is there anything I can do to keep these gears from slipping and get this loco moving?? Or do I need to send it in?  Also if I can get the gears fixed myself what's the easiest way to access the DCC plug to put a decoder in it??  Many thanks
