N / Re: Dynamis Command Station
October 06, 2014, 08:26:11 AM
Thanks for that. Some of the problem was that the Liquid Crystal Display is mostly unreadable, and I was counting
to get to the correct position - in fact I was ending up on the Service Track page, so nothing programmed. I have actually had one loco respond in forward and reverse, but the CV entries are unreadable. I am going to have to see whether I can find a technician who is prepared to open up the handpiece and restore the LCD.

N / Dynamis Command Station
October 05, 2014, 07:47:11 AM
Quite a few years ago, when I had the money, I purchased a Dynamis System - one handset and the command station. Various health problems stopped the building of the layout but now I am determined to get it going before age stops me. Thing is the Dynamis, whilst new, is way out of warranty. I have been fitting Digitrac decoders to my N gauge engines and tried to program them but found that there is no voltage at the output terminals of the command station - input is 16.3 volts. I can't find anything online to help trouble shoot this problem. The green LED becomes steady when the stop button is pressed, so the 2 units must be talking.
Any help from the learnad gentlement of this forum would be greatly appreciated

Thanks Rich,
I should have stated that Farish and Minitrix are both N gauge.

Can anyone tell me what would be the most suitable decoder to use in the 4-6-2 and 2-8-0 steamers, and the GWR railcar produced by Graham Farish and Minitrix.
Thanks

Hi, like many others I am venturing into DCC control, (in fact I am just starting my layout after collecting for 40+ years)! I am in Australia, with 240volts AC. I have not had any difficulty locating the Bachmann power supply OUTPUT, and I am darned if I can find any reason why I can't use a 240Volt/16volt power transformer to replace the Bachmann one. But I may have missed something. I can just afford a Dynamis and a few command chips, and will only be operating a max of 3 trains and a railcar at any one time, although I may try a couple of steam engines double headed. The layout is 'N' gauge, so power consumption is relatively low. I wont be getting into any expansions so what the dynamis comes with is fine, I just want to play trains before 'I push up the daises'.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
