HO / GP 30 Spectrum
January 19, 2013, 02:39:19 PM
I have an older GP30 that has been converted to DCC. Unfortunatly it runs like a tank, groaning and grinding it's way along. I think the problem could be in the trucks and the iner mechanism. Is there anyway I can fix this problem? How do I tear the trucks apart? Would love to have a smooth running machine! Thanks HJM

HO / Proto 2000 FA2??
January 06, 2012, 09:33:58 PM
I have an older Proto 2000 i think it is an FA2. It stopped running, took the shell off and discovered a blue wire that I believe should be attached to the motor had broken off. I'm not sure where it should be soldered in or how one pulls the chassie apart to search the underside of the motor. Can anyone lend a word of advise on how to rectify the prob? H. 28 views and no suggestion, can anyone help with an answer please.

HO / reverse loop within a reverse loop DCC
October 26, 2010, 11:33:51 PM
I am have reverse loop within a reverse loop and use a reversing module on each loop. I am shorting out at the switch point of the inner loop each time the polarity should be changing.  Thing seem to run okay providing the polarity of the outer loop remains the same. Can anyone offer some help on this situation?

HO / Reverse loop DCC
September 14, 2010, 01:11:28 AM
I have an operating reverse loop using an MRC reversing module. I have created another reverse loop within this main loop. Can I add another module at the point of polarity conflict or must I find another solution?

HO / Power Draw Spectrum H16-44 and F7/8
February 26, 2010, 01:59:12 AM
Both of these engines seem to require excess current to run. Each time I power up these engines with my NCE Power Pro the CP6 Circuit Protector lights up. I run other engines with no problem on the same system. Each engine is DCC equipt with an NCE D13SR decoder. Both of the engines in question are of 90's vintage as are most of my engines.

HO / Auto reverse module
February 13, 2010, 07:20:20 PM
I have installed a DCC Specialties reverse module PSX-AR on a reverse loop. I have gaped the rails beyond an Atlas code 100 Y switch. I have wired the module according to the instructions for a basic reverse loop. I am having trouble running the gap on the side of the reverse loop where the transfer of polarity occurs from rail A and B. I can run the gap at high speed and the reversal of polarity in the engine occurs but can not cross the gap at slow speed, the engine shorts out. I can push over the gap and the engine continues on it's way. Can anyone suggest something that may help me out with this problem?

HO / Spectrum "Doodlebug"
December 28, 2009, 12:28:17 AM
I'm wondering which decoder one can install in a Doodlebug? I have noted that there is a plug-in pin installed on top of the board. Does this mean there is a plug-in decoder avail?

General Discussion / DCC 4-8-4
November 25, 2009, 04:46:40 PM
Question: Can the 4-8-4 steam loco provided with item no. 00922-Overland Limited, be converted to DCC? If so are there any instruction avail thru you to make this conversion. Which decoder would be best for this conversion if it can be done?

General Discussion / DCC conversion of older GP30's
November 10, 2009, 10:30:19 AM
I have some older (10+yrs)Spectrum GP30's. I would like to convert them to DCC.  When I opened one up I was unable to figure out how this conversion could be done. This of course is my first venture into DCC conversion and I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed with this venture. Can you PLEASE provide some guidance on how this conversion should be done and with which decoders.
