HO / Derailment Question
May 27, 2010, 08:38:15 PM
Just bought Bachman DCC Baldwin #51306.Runs like a charm until it hits any switches or crossovers.Ive never seen a train derail this much.It doesnt derail everytime or on any one particular switch, but it derails about 75% of the time when it attempts to switch or crossover.I unerstand occasional derailments, but this is ridiculous. Are there any adjustments I can make?I have a Union Pacific Loco that never derails.Any thoughts?

HO / Help with wiring
May 26, 2010, 06:59:21 PM
I have just recently purchased EZ Command. My layout is 2 20' ovals, one a little smaller on the inside, they are connected with multiple cross overs. The EZ Command is powered to the outside loop.Everything ran fine until I built my diagnol bridge from corner to corner on the inside. As soon as I connected it , it beeped which Im sure you guys know means a short.I went to my local train place and they advised I block out the bridge with plastic rail guards and buy the atlas reversing switch. My question is all this compatible with the EZ Command? How do you guys suggest I wire this?Do I need another power pack?Does it need to be another EZ Commad?

Working on my set up about 20' long by 36", so I have 2 long ovals that is all easy track and I just got the EZ command DCC system that comes with a DCC steam engine and I bought a DCC Bachman diesel . The Bachman steam engine that comes with the EZ command will completely die and loose power at all the crossovers and turnouts at low speed .You have to give it an 1-2" push and then it will start up again. At high speed it slows and hesitates at those same points but does not die, I think its momentum just carries it over. Now the diesel which is much larger does not have this problem. So what is the problem? Is it a poorly designed steam engine on crossovers? Will I have this same problem with small DCC switch engine diesels? Is there a flaw in the crossovers and turnouts?
