Okay.  I'll put in my 2 cents.  A Spectrum 4-8-2 Mastadon.

Wow.  It looks REALLY good to me.  A little weathering up and dulling of the paint and it should look even better.  Keep up the good work!

HO / Re: HO Gandy Dancer

I tried like heck to get a dancer to run well on dcc.  I wanted to use it to power my scratch built Galloping Goose.  Thought it would work out fine.  But it NEVER ran right.  Starts and stops were very common.  I could not keep the track clean enough and if I did happen to have a spotless section the little guy would have to be running at top speed to keep from stalling.  So I wound up scrapping the whole idea.

The goose is now powered by a converted over 44 ton diesel if anyone is wondering.  And she runs as good as she looks...

I guess I'll take a different stand.  How many loco's do you NEED?  I have a nice sized home based HO scale layout with more than 150 feet of track.  I have a total of 4 loco's.  Yup 4.  A 4-4-0, 2-8-0, 2-8-2, and a 0-6-0 switcher.  And they are more than capable of taking care of my railroading needs.

I'm in the hobby to enjoy myself.  Not run my bank account into the ground.  Or have to take out a second mortgage.

I guess to each his, or her, own but take the hobby for what you can.  Enjoy yourself.  Isn't that what it's all about?  I'd hate to see a layout of your quality sitting around and not being used.  What a shame that would be.

Best of luck whatever you decide.

Click on the little league field.  It's still under construction, but you get the idea.  It's 240 down the lines and 280' to dead center in HO scale.  And yes.  The flag sign lights up!

Looks like you might need some fascia or something to stop the trains at the end of the staging.  Especially behind your Power Plant.  I did not think about this until after my 2-8-0 Connie bounced off the concrete floor.  Even on the corners, trains have a way of always falling to the "outside".   It's a long way to the floor.  A cheap fascia can save you hundreds....  Jay

I concur.

I can't help but notice that my previous comment on the sad lack of a 2-6-0 was deleted by the powers that be.

Don't make me start a whole new post complaining....

Other than what you posted, I'd recommend keeping them in a dry, low humid environment.

Best of luck.

I agree with the other posters.  Make it yourself.  The lettering is easy enough.

Very nice job.  You have posted here what is certainly missing from the box that every steamer comes in.  A simple, easy to understand, step by step instruction of "How to lube your steamer".  Nice JOB!!!

Change from a B&M to another road name?  Why would one want to do that?!
The question you should be asking is why did they even make it in B&M in the first place, if everyone is just going to re-letter it anyway, may as well switch out the B&M for an unlettered version as it is obvious no one wants anything with B&M on the side.  ;D

Ouch ABC.  Very ouch.
