Yes. Shays and the railtrucks both have gear issues.

Direct mail sounds good to me. I will send you my mailing address in a private message if you'll do the same?

On30 / Smokebox door for connie
November 28, 2010, 08:53:45 PM
Somehow I lost the number board that goes in the center of my smokebox door
It doesn't seem to be one of the parts listed that I can order. Does anyone have any ideas? I know it's part of the smokebox door.

She's outside. It's just a fine loco. But too small. I want to double and triple head Connies up my 4% grades.

Bought the American, but don't like it. I really want another Connie. The American is unlettered and dcc equipped.

Hopefully this isn't against the site rules, sorry if it is

On30 / Re: On30, 2 Truck Shay - very slow
November 20, 2010, 10:04:33 PM
A Shay is a low speed loco. It is geared for slow speed power. A rod engine will run circles around a Shay, but the Shay will pull grades and curves a rod loco can't touch.

Assuming the loco isn't binding from a problem,

On30 / Installed sound in my connie
November 20, 2010, 12:17:33 AM
I spent the evening installing a tsunami tsu-1000 k series decoder in the 2-8-0. I installed a megabass 27mm speaker and a 27mm higher freq speaker in the tender. Made baffles out of pill bottles. The speakers are in series and compliment each other well. Managed to keep the factory bachmann board in there. I put an 8 pin plug on the tsunami harness.
The loco ran well with the bachmann installed decoder. Now it runs great! It took 2 hours, but was well worth it

Does anyone know if the cv's in the factory sound equipped are the standard tsunami sound cv's? Meaning is cv 129 bell volume like on my tsu 1000 decoder?

I went on Saturday and didn't see a bachmann booth. Last year they had quite a display, this year nothing.  Was there another show that conflicted?
