If there is a shortage of spare parts as previously indicated what happens to the warranty? Would they subsititute a Heavy Mountain if unable to fix the problem?

General Discussion / Re: Train in movie DR. Zhivago
October 09, 2007, 09:45:22 PM
Most interesting question. I found a source that indicated the following:

Since the book was banned in the Soviet Union, the movie was filmed largely in Spain over ten months,[1] with the entire Moscow set being built from scratch outside of Madrid. Most of the scenes covering Zhivago and Lara's service in World War I were filmed in Soria, as was the Varykino estate. Some of the winter sequences were filmed in Finland, mostly landscape scenes, and Yuri's escape from the Partisans. Winter scenes of the family travelling to Yuriatin by rail were filmed in Canada.

....Its a start.

As I have a couple of these I checked the attached locomotive diagram and was surprised that the headlight unit is not shown.

Now I am wondering how involved is it to replace the headlight should it burn out or if I have to replace the unit when I eventually switch to DCC.

An updated diagram showing the headlight posted to this site would sure be helpful.

Low temp hot glue is the answer. I use Woodland scenics works great. If you need to redo you can carefully cut the bond and the glue will peel off and you can restart.

Is there something "special" about this item that makes it stand out against the other track cleaners?

I have several CN Rail zebra stripe ROCO Austria Sharknose A's and Bs but I don't know if CN ever had Sharks since I've never seen Sharks in any photos of CN diesels. Can anyone verify wether these CN Sharks are models of the real thing or just marketed for Canadian HO scale Train Bufs---Carbud--(Bill in Vic BC)
Greetings Bill. I'm not an expert on CN power, but I'm almost certain they didn't own any Baldwin Sharks. As modelers, we have to be a little careful concerning what some manufacturors offer. Example: It's possible to get a steam engine painted in Amtrak colors. Some locomotives are unique to certain roads. The Southern Pacific cab-ahead steam locomotives are one example of that. I'm certain that many of our colleagues will be pleased with the Bachman Sharks. Especially 1950's Pennsylvania modelers, or possible some folks modeling D&H in the late 1970's.

This site would indicate no Sharks for CN Rail

I too have had services issues to content with. I can not say anything negative about my dealings with the Bachmann Service Department.  The folks there have been superb to deal with, all issues have been dealt with most professionally. Never a bad experience.

HO / Re: Royal Blue B&O 4-4-0 in Spectrum question
September 16, 2007, 07:41:52 PM
Russia Iron 4-4-0 paint scheme is most striking. If the paint scheme was available in other Spectrum steamers I would likely collect those to add to the roster of my steam fleet - name yet to be determined.
The colour scheme being second only the the GN Glacier Green units.

The instruction manual for the MRC Prodigy is to say the lease lacking.
It is an eleven page minimanual. I thought I had obtain the wrong item. It refers you to MRC Web site for additional information on the unit.On the site all you have access to is the minimanual.

Should I be running the wire to the feeder from the existing EZ Track connector( other connector on the track) to the new connector? Or should I be running the power directly from the transformer to the new (additional ) EZ TRack connector?

HO / ez track
August 11, 2007, 11:56:23 PM
Have placed most of the track for my new layout and have a couple of spots where the engines definetely slow down and then pick up speed.

For EZ track would I use the existing track with the controller connections to attach to another feeder (another EZ track connector track) or should I run the wire from the transformer controller to the other feeder?

Also, is there another source for the plug (with the " two connectors") that Bachmann uses?
