having same issue on my unit.   no foam, rear truck sliding freely and appears properly attached to the rear lug, but the second drive axle clearly is sitting above the rail, and i can only assume that the rear truck is somehow causing the frame to ride high to the rear..   unit is out of warranty so hate to spend another $55 on it.

sound works great-  would love to sell on ebay but can't honestly in current condition.

lovely little engine but is hell on my #2 wyes.

Will look at the wow option.  Also am hearing that soundtraxx is soon to make an announcement of a new product.  Good to hear of a satisfactory experience with MRC.

On30 / Current review of MRC sound decorder
May 19, 2016, 10:33:14 AM
Installing sound in 8-pin DCC On30 climax and looking for first-hand real world factual review of the current (2016) MRC sound decoders.  Understand that they have been not well-received in the past but want to know if they are worth considering now.

Thanks

apologies if this has been covered before, and i've overlooked it.    intending to get a pre2011 Climax DCC (8-pin) before they totally disappear and a TSU1000 (9 pin),   have found a digitraxx 9 to 8-pin adapter but not finding much info on the soundtraxx.     have installed a bachmann aftermarket sound decoder into another Climax, so the physical install is not so much an issue as simply knowing what to do with the rest of the wires coming out of the TSU1000, if that makes any sense.

thanks for helpful responses and/or links

On30 / sound modules physical size
May 09, 2016, 06:24:13 PM
are the sound modules for the shay, climax and heisler the same physical size and have the same plugs for the PCB?   and if so, assuming i can live with inaccurate sound, can i mix and match?   asking because i can get a deal on a shay module that i want to put into a climax.

thanks
