HO / Running DCC next to DC
February 19, 2008, 11:32:32 PM
Hello All! Question for youins: if I run a DCC track  next to a DC track and connect the two with an isolated spur they will both work just fine, but my question is if I run an engine with all wheel pick-up across the spur from one to the other will the DC voltage harm anything on the DCC side or vice-versa? I'm new at this guys so bear with me please.~TomKat

HO / DCC Equipped Sante Fe GP40
February 18, 2008, 11:55:50 AM
Hello All, I recently purchased a DCC equipped GP40 to run with my EZ Command. The engine runs good, but growls really hard on start or on very slow operation. Track has just been cleaned and still growls. Any clues?~TomKat

This engine is the first I've had, and it's had a few problems, but they were all fixed. Now it's stuttering and stopping and won't even run. Any tips? (I don't think its the track, I have track cleaning cars running over them whenever I run a train...But, it might be.)

Try to narrow it down if possible. Does the engine have the same problem continuously, or is it isolated to one location on the layout?~TomKat

I am new to model railroading and really like what dcc has to offer, in fact I have already purchased a dcc on board GP40. What I would like to know is does Bachmann offer add-on sound decoders?~TomKat
