Can someone confirm if the 4-6-0 with the wood panel cab and fluted domes comes with an extra set of round domes?

Thanks,

My apologies Bach-man. I thought because you were able to post photos meant you had some of the models in hand. Please keep these questions in mind and provide the answers once you get a chance to look at the real thing. I'll wait and place my orders at that time.

I know, I was hoping Bachmann would shed some light on this for all of us. I'm sure I'm not the only one to think of doing this.

Ken,

I hope you're right and the wood cab version comes with both types of domes. I just wish Bachmann would conform this so I can place my order.

Mike,

I guess an interest in California Narrow Gauge is required to understand what I'm talking about. You and I seem to be the only ones getting this.

BTW...What are you working on these days? I haven't seen anything new in a while.

Any information on this question yet?

When will the 4-6-0's hit the stores?

Since my question has gone unanswered, I thought I'd clarify it a bit. I have two sound equipped 2-8-0's with speakers in those nice tapered sided tenders. I'd like to buy two of the new 4-6-0's and since I'm not crazy about the tender they come with, I thought I'd swap them. This way, I won't have to wait for the sound equipped 4-6-0's.

Do you know if the plug set-up is the same for both locomotives? I would hate to buy two 4-6-0's with this conversion in mind only to find out it isn't possible.

I'll take a look at the laser cut cabs. I'm not a big fan of them because the wood grain goes the wrong direction on the vertical boards.

Eric,

Choice of stacks isn't the issue, I want a choice of domes/cabs. Specifically the wood cab with round domes.

I want my 4-6-0 to have a wood cab, straight stack and round domes. Looks like the closest I can get is a steel cab, straight stack and round domes. Can I but a wood cab separately? If so, what is the price and part number?

Will it be possible the interchange the 2-8-0 tender with the 4-6-0 tender?

I'm designing a new cab for my Bachmann 2-8-0 and I don't have it with me. Can someone tell me the exact diameter of the boiler?

Thanks in advance,

On30 / 4-6-0 Delivery?
April 02, 2009, 11:40:46 AM
Bach-man,

Do you have an expected delivery time for the new On30? Last I heard it was spring.

How about more photos and information about the options/detail parts. I want to get one or two ordered but I need to know what I'm ordering.

Thanks,

A Southern Pacific Narrow Gauge 4-6-0 would be really awesome. I believe one way to attract broad gaugers into narrow gauge is give them something they are familiar with. Most are familiar with the Rio Grande and I think that's why it's so popular. Same with the SP. I find it hard to believe that SPNG stuff wouldn't sell well.

My Bachmann 4-6-0's will have wooden cabs, round domes and oil bunkers (if available). They will by lettered for my Bishop Creek and Sierra Railway, a fictional railroad that connects to the SPNG bust below Laws and runs into Bishop and on to the mines in the Sierra foothills.

On30 / 4-6-0 question
February 11, 2009, 12:32:27 PM
Will I be able to buy a version of the new Bachmann 4-6-0's with a wood cab (2 windows) and round domes? Will these locomotives come with oil bunkers? How about Tsunami sound?
