The explanation that I just received from Bachmann service was that the Williams line only runs well on 90 watt transformers.  I find this hard to believe since I have been running other engines on less wattage transformers for more than 12 years.  In fact the K-Line transformer that I got it to tun on was only 40 watts and the MTH transformer was only 75 watts.  Could it be that it does not like the Lionel CW-80 transformer because of its internal electronics?

Has anyone had problems with the streetcar not working with a Lionel CW-80 transformer?  I just got the Chicago Surfline version and it would not do anything but light up and sound the bell with the Lionel transformer.  At first I thought there was another problem with the streetcar, but I got it to work okay with a MTH and a K-Line transformer.
