Hi Bob:

I've asked the same question about a replacement set of metal handrails enough to do 4 cars including the obs. car. I think a lot of people would want to retrofit their older cars.

As for the trucks, if you have trucks with the plastic or composit wheels, they do have wheel sets. For the whole truck, most people buy the flat car kits. This gives you 2 pair of trucks and nicer truss rods to replace the wire ones on USA or LGB cars.

They do offer K-27 items so maybe there's hope.

Hi Jack:

I didn't check to see who made the large set but it looked like a New Bright item.

Hi Bill:

I was at Boscov's last week and they had their Christmas items out. I saw a New Bright style Christmas set in large scale and a Lionel Polar Express in O gauge.

Hi Jack:

They use heavy rail on 1 and 2 yard ( on the yard office side of the yard ) and 1, 2 and 3 relay ( next to 1 and 2 main ) due to the weight of the trains recrewed there. A 130 car coal train will weigh between 16,000 and 18,000 tons. If it was on another track, they just used what they had handy. They use transition joint bars to match up the different heights of rail.

I just turned 64 ( yes, I hope she still loves me, HA HA ) and my knees are bad so I'm going through the retirement process now. I still love the job but the new Federal laws have things all messed up, so I guess I'm restricted to the basement now.

Speaking of the basement, yes, the invite still stands. We're remodeling right now so stuff is stored everywhere including the train room. I let you know when it's cleared up.

Hi All:

This would be a good starting point for a Barnhart loader ( hint-hint ).

Hi Again:

I found Williams O in zz-08 in the orange hall. Will all scales be shown or just the O? I hope to make it one of the three days.

Hi:

Set 90094 was listed in 1994 with engine #3, coach #12 and obs #14 in a limited edition of 3600 sets for hobby shops.
Combine #8 item 97115 and baggage #1 item 97415 were first listed in the 1998 catalog.

Hi All:

Since most of the items were already done by Lionel, I wonder if they are the same tooling? Does anyone know if Kader did the Lionel items?

Wade

PS: Hi Bill. I'll see you at York.

Hi:

In the cab at the rear of the engine is the back of the firebox where you would put the coal. Push up on that and it will come off. The batteries are in there.

There are no dumb questions but there are some dumb answers.

Well, I might as well throw in my 2 cents worth:

1 a 1:20.3 class A Climax

2 a 4-4-0 and a 4-6-0 in both 1890  ( st boiler, fluted domes, wood cab, wood tender, balloon stack ) and 1910  ( tapered boiler, round domes, steel cab, coal tender, st stack ) design sharing a lot of parts to keep production costs down and in a size  that would look good in both 1:22.5 and 1:20.3 ( something like the old FED HOn3 brass engines from our youth, B-Man )

3 1:22.5 pulp wood cars  ( like the new On30 ones )

4 a 2 pack of 1:22.5 flat cars in narrow gauge names and 2 different numbers

5 an EBT tank car in 1:22.5 and some other 1:22.5 cars ( a few each year )  in different NG road names

and before someone jumps in and says no one buys 1:22.5 any more, well your wrong. Alot of people still do and don't need or want the finer detail of the 1:20.3 items.

Stay narrow minded

Hi Bill:

The C&S boxcar is a dark brown. All the cars are shown in the 2008 catalog but the EBT is a darker red. The only new car for 2008 is a 175th Anniversary boxcar.

I have vacation for York. I'm only 2 hours north of York so let me know your plans. I hope we can get together so you can shoot some pictures of anything I have for your book.

Wade

If you want to do a Google map, I'm at 65 Airport Hill Road, Lewistown, PA, 17044 and the York Fairground is 334 Carlisle Ave, York, PA, 17403
