tell us more. long distance diagniosis is very difficult and usually wrong without more info. IIs the track DCC ? Put alligator clips on the leads from the transformer and touch the wheels. Does the locomotive run in both directions ?

I would recommend obtaining a Bachmann G scale train set.

We live in a consumer oriented society. When things break, we replace them. The days of fixing your mom's toaster when it broke are gone, for the most part.

I hace a DCC ready loco with a 9 pin flat connector( female )  and a Bachmann 8 pinn NMRA plug and need to find a harness that could marry the two. Does this harness even exist or do I just have to bite the bullet and ressurect my long lost micro soldering skills ?

I have a John Bull that runs on Bachmann EZ track and i really enjoy watching the beast go round and round. fun to watch and imagine what it was like back when  I don't know what the dollar value is for I am passing it on to my descendants when the time comes..

There was a listing recently on ebay for 45 engines, unknown condition. I would guess to get the electronics, they myght just forego unscrewing the bodies and apply hammer. 

I had a similar problem and  i just bought a logging car kit and used the coupler for the locomotive and relegated the logging car to the end of a train. Now that i went DCC, the locomotive is now a Roundhouse Queen.

DCC and DC and Marklin AC for me.When my garage is cleaned up, all three will be running on the same geographical location. that means three power sources with its own unique characteristic. the common thread is HO scale, unless i decide to add Z scale and garden scale. I am going to die with a lot of toys.

I would love to have one of these on my track. Maybe this thread filters it self back to the Kader industries leadership. I wish I had kept the 1980's National Geographic replete with photographs of the chinese steam locomotive network.

You can always incorporate this machine into your layout as a hangar queen ( in airplane terms )    roundhouse queen ??

I don't want to throw sand in the sandbox but isn't the american decapod simply a 2-10-2 santa fe without the trailing pony and the russian required decorative paint job ? BTW, that is one hell of a nice job !

what kind of warranty you expect to be honored for such an old machine ?
