I always pin, easy to correct your mistakes.  Other guys will say otherwise, but this has always worked for me and my club.

HO / Bachmann Retooled 0-6-0

So, I think we all have that old Bachmann 6 wheeler sitting on a shelf somewhere.  I have a buddy who has a fleet of walthers heritage 6 wheelers that look great.  It's been a while since any QUALITY 6 wheeler has been on the market.  I'm pretty excited for it.  Thoughts?

Rapido made a dash 8 2 years ago as a first model in their now defunct budget line.  It did very well, so it may be too soon for any other brand to come out with one.

Exactly!  Over the past couple of years, the hobby seems to have realized that we don't all have a cash orchard on our estates!  Maybe in a year or two we can all meet up with our boxcabs lol!

For anyone just starting, I would highly reccomend the plum cove boxcab kit.  It is probably one of if not THE cheapest new engine that you could buy to get into the hobby.  Then once you've had your fun, it could probably sell for exactly what you bought the kit for.  Bench riding car kits are low in price as well, and are the best price-friendly way to ride.

I believe there are two clips on each side of the body the lock it down into the chassis on either end.  I can send a picture if you need.

That would be quite a sight.  But honestly, I run my Berkshires and pacifics with auto racks more than I'd like to admit...

Look at my response to your other post. The simple answer is no, you cannot get your paint scheme in a shell with ditchlights from Bachmann. But ditchlight castings are cheap and easy to come by.
#42
Well, looking at the product, there appear to be models that have ditchlights. It appears that models that aren't factory equipped with ditchlights don't have the ditchlights housings. This isn't an available part on the webpage either. Ditchlights castings aren't hard to find, and you can wire some surface mount leds within them and attach them to the appropriate leads on the board.

Once this happens, the ditchlights will be triggered with an alternate function for the ditchlights.  Since there are two leads on the board (one for each ditchlight) they will alternate. If you want the ditchlights to come on with the headlight, then you will need to configured the decoder light outputs and functions to your liking (look in the soundtraxx website manuals).

I have officially said ditchlight 9 times in this post lol

Lol my club did too, but he no longer participates in club functions anymore lol. Guess being a dictator was hard work  ;D

For layouts that are less than 2000 sq ft, definitely use infrared. Duplex is impractical for layouts that are not MASSIVE
