No coupler gauge is going to fix this problem.  I have a new set from this past Christmas and the coupler mounting on the observation coach is very unsuitable.  When I get around to it, I'll be replacing the couplers and mounts to something that is capable of doing the job.  Bachmann needs to re-engineer this car.

This thread is well named for my question(s).

1 - What Airhorn options are offered for the F7A?
2 - Anyone have a default CV list of the F7?  It is not listed on the Bachmann website download site.
3 - Anyone have any news on Bachmann offering the Sound Value option to the GP38-2 or GP40 and the GP9?

BTW, the F7B units have the Bell and Airhorn volume turned off as the default setting.  Easy to rectify in JMRI (use the ALCO FA decoder setting).

I have vivid memories of seeing Santa Fe freight trains racing across the plains pulled by a string of F units.  Tucked in the endless string of cars would be 2 or 3 or maybe 4 or 5 steam locomotives without side gear rolling to the scrap yard.

I received the Bachmann Royal Gorge F7 AB with two passgenger cars for Christmas 2012.  Beautiful packaging, as I said, a gorgeous   looking unit.  Since the set was not DCC ready, I wanted to return it to Hobby Town but their return policy was to trade for something else.  Should have gotten a teddy bear.

1 - The observation car not only rolls roughly but will not stay coupled with anything else in the set.  Coupler height is the issue, fixing it will be another issue though.  
2- Converted the A unit to Tsunami Sound and all is good there.  
3 - Installed a Soundtraxx MC1Z102SQ  mobile decoder in the B unit and the train runs about 1-2 seconds stalls and starts again.  Swapped decoder to a P2K and Athearn units and works fine.  Installed NCE decoder and it works fine in the B unit BUT will not speed match well with the Tsunami.  

I've a train room full of Bachmann locomotives and must tell you the quality of this set is well below what I have been accustom to from Bachman.
