if you don't like them, don't buy them. we like them, bought multiple units and will buy more. for those looking for more detail, maybe atlas or mth is the answer.

Look i really can't afford Atlas or MTH but i really like WBB and how they run and look. I have scale gg1's, E7's and F3's all by WBB. Now i would like an F7 that really looks as good as the others.  I love my WBB NS F3 and if i want more detail i will add it but I'm not looking for more detail from WBB (although that would be nice) but i just want the WBB F7 to look like an F7. Hey if you like the F7 as is then buy them but for me i will wait till they get them right.

Come on guys, If the currant F7 actually looked like an F7 i would not have a problem with it but it does not. The WBB has done a much better job with the F3 and the E units but the F7 in my opinion is hideous. Maybe good for the time that Kusan and AMT used them but it is time for that tooling to go away or better yet i know where there is a crusher to help recycle it.  Time for a upgrade WBB.

I think it is time to put the old Kusan/AMT tooling to rest and tool up for a new F7.  A lot of people i have talked to also wishes  you guys would replace the old F7 with a new version that is more accurate. I really want an F7 but refuse to buy what is being offered. I think it would be a win/win deal for WBB beings the F7 were on so many railroads and the fact that there is a pent up demand for the F7's. If they were made to same quality as the NS F3 units then there would be no doubts that it was the right move for both WBB and their customers.

Give it a thought,

Dave

Williams by Bachmann / Conrail Exceutive units

Anybody up for the Conrail executive E units? They were E8's but the E7's are close enough. After getting the NS F's i trust WBB to do a fine job with the Conrail. Pretty much a simple paint scheme but very attractive. I saw these all the time by 30th street in Philly.  I'm in for a ABA set if WBB decides to do it.

Just a note to say nice job on these units. Really like the close coupling. Detail and paint is some of the best i have seen.  How about a Norfolk Southern streamline set of passenger cars?

Thanks, Dave

No need to oil can motors they are sealed. Just oil and grease the wheels and gears.

Why doesn't Bachmann wire the motors with double motors in series? It seems it would be the best for smoother starts and the standard lights.

Has anybody wired a scale gg1 in series? Are the motors the same as the E7 that CandO showed when wireing his E7 to series? My gg1 runs and starts smooth but the headlights and car lights are very dim. Would this help?

If you just take off the pilot and glue it the body is still a little too high. The best thing to do is to grind down the nub under the truck, it will not only lower the body but also put the body much closer to the pilot. You can then decide weather to glue the pilot or leave as is. The pilot is then so close to the body you really can't tell until it goes around a curve.

OK, who is spying on our catalog department?  ;)

We are making this paint scheme this year!

I know the next question will be "When will it be delivered?".  We have not received our production schedule yet, but will update the delivery date when we have that information.

Regards,

3rail

All right, you just made my day, thanks WBB.  I knew i loved that Bicentennial scheme.

Thanks again, Dave

Yes that is it, i saw it in 1976 in Philly. I know a couple of other mfgs have made it but theirs is just alittle bit too much for me besides i really like the WBB GG1's.

Williams by Bachmann / Scale GG1 new paint scheme

I would like to see the scale GG1 in the 1976  conrail bicentennial scheme. Especially since it was always at 30th street station in Philadelphia. I know it is a bit gaudy but i really like it. Anybody else want to see this made?
