regarding size of the new O/F 4-4-0 see my post in the 'what the hell 'post
#48
the new O/F 4-4-0 is much larger than the I/F model. i layed the connie on the drg in the gazette and it is virtualy the same size except for the tender which is shorter than the connie.
so i doubt wether any of the I/F parts are used

Please. I'm not trying to force sound on everyone. I just wish Bachmann would give us an option...sound or no sound.

isnt that what bachman are starting to do ! with the forney, shay and climax,
so whats the problem.

i hope they do it with all locos from now, its easier for us who dont want DCC  but do want sound.

also for those that said sound costs details, it doesnt with the bachman locos

(If you're at all handy, I notice in the new catalog that Bachmann is providing the cast metal underframes for the flat cars as a separate item in either oxide or black.)

are they not plastic !!

On30 / on30 kits ?
February 12, 2008, 06:39:32 PM
this was posted on a yahoo group
is it true mr bachman

From info I have on another group I'm in [BSFO] Bachmann has decided to go
down a different route, because most modellers it seems just want to pull
apart and change the offerings from Bachmann. So Bachmann is going to start
producing parts only for various models and you will have to assemble them
yourself, this also solves the problem of models being damaged in transit.
For example the T boiler Shay you will be able to buy all the parts to
assemble it as a T boiler, or you can buy a different chassis frame motor,
boiler, cab etc. setup, that will enable you to build it up as a parallel
boiler version
This policy came about because Bachmann can't see the point of having to pay
a company in China assemble models, only to have them arrive in the US be
sold to modellers whom are just going to disassemble them commit general
mayhem on the models.
This information has been brought to you from the BSFO@ yahoogroups.com

tomcat
someone posted this on the on30 conspiracy regarding on30 cars

I emailed sales@blackstonemodels.com [the model section of Soundtraxx]
and they've replied, "Not sure who the [forum] poster is, but the
information is incorrect, at least at this time".

sorry to burst your bubble
