What you're looking at is the specs for use with the EZ-Command. If you're using a different command system (Digitrax, NCE, etc) you should be able to use as many as you like.

I used to use an ink pen eraser to clean stubborn areas. You can find them at any good office supply store.

It's pretty obvious that with all this running at once that the system is overloaded. You're going to have to downscale your operations or your booster or the Dynamis will go pop.

The EZ-Command lets you control 8 sounds (F1 - F8).

That may work for the Bachmann DCC OnBoard and a couple of other brands, but for the higher quality brands it's not usually the case.

I get all mine without decoders and install a cheap ones afterwards (NOT MRC!) to control power, speed, lights. The decoders cost from 20 to 30 bucks extra whereas many decoder equipped locos can cost at least 50 to 100 bucks more.

You would program those just as you would a loco decoder. The instructions that come with the turnout should explain it.

I used the EZ-Command for two years and just packed it away in storage after getting a Digitrax DCS50. The EZ-Command is very good for what it does but I wanted the ability to read and write CV's, which the EZ-Command can't do. I never had a problem with it in all the time I used it and I highly recommend it to the modeler who wants to get his/her feet wet in DCC before making the decision to get a more expensive system.

ATRTERP4LIFE: If you would like to have an EZ-Command system (controller, power supply, connectors, DVD/literature) I have a brand new one here still in it's plastic wrap. If you want it email me your mailing address.  My email is jeffreywimberly@yahoo.com . You don't have to pay me anything. I'll even pay the postage.

Great isn't the word for it. I've used it as an aid for planning additions to my own layout.

HO / Re: Dynamis and 'heavy' locoa

Sounds to me like you're have a power problem. Do you have feeders going to the part of the track where this is taking place? Are your track joints soldered? Without feeders to the other parts of the layout you may not be getting enough power to other areas. As the loco(s) run over the track joints the joints flex slightly. Over time this can cause the joiners to loosen lose contact. Soldering the joints makes them permanent and rigid so they don't flex and lose contact. If the other locos are Athearns it would be a good idea to remove the contact strip that connects the front and rear trucks to the top of the motor and replace it with a piece of flexible wire that can be soldered in place. This eliminates the possibility of losing electrical contact at these moving points.

This set was also produced back in the 80's under the same name. The loco had a pancake motor and the track was either steel or brass. The locos cheap motor didn't last long.

Are you trying to run all three trains at once? Sounds like you may be overloading the system. I can run ten locos on my EZ-Command but I have a 5 amp booster between the controller and the tracks.
