Learning curve spiteful brakevan face + Bachmann Thomas and Friends Brakevan + Model Train Glue = Bachmann Spiteful Brakevan

I would never even suggest to attempt that. I would personally use the LC face at most and just paint the livery on a modified body.

Or don't treat your models as toys.  ::)

Thank you...

I was going to say: no model is anywhere near indestructible. The buffers even bend to begin with. There is no way to make the products stronger unless you are willing to pay more money. I think this would also affect performance because they would have to use a mold of a something other than plastic...

Honestly, they are really fine in terms of durability. I've heard many accounts of Thomas trains falling 3 feet and being fine... (Not sure if I believe it, but meh.)

10%? People use a helix for that stuff!  ;D

Yeah, I would think so. That would be crazy. I thought 3% was a lot.

Its been a week and all im saying is that he has a habit of doing this and the post was unnecessary

It was just a comeback to what I said. Nothing really wrong with that.

my grade is 10%

:o You shouldn't ever even think of having a grade that step. That means per 100 inches, you go up 10 inches! (Rise divided by Run) I would only think that you need to go up 3 inches at an average and 96 inches is 8 feet. You shouldn't need to go anywhere longer or higher. This is just about what my layout is as a matter of fact. Just under 3% in this case.

Cheers

Dude Like my last post I'm still in 5th grade  ok

Well, shouldn't all kids know that you just type your questions into Google and the answer is spit out?  ::) :P All we are saying is that if you have do multiplication and/or know how to use a computer, you should be able to find a price converter or convert the prices yourself. I can google "price converter" and it gives me a functioning converter. You put in a number, it spits out another: Simple.

That is a possibility. I would like more closed vans. There are a lot of open wagons and it is time to give the vent van a companion. ::) :P ;D

Retooling an Annie/Clarabel model would be a fraction of the price. I'm going to make a tan coach with an extra Annie I got. All I need is to remove the face, the name label, and I need to paint the under carriage black.

There's really no point to this thread....

Especially from what I heard there were no pictures of the new items in the ihobby 2010 photos...

This could have been in the Everything Thomas Topic, but too late for that.

Dear Bachmann,

Emily's strength can only pull one express coach or two trucks and I can't make her pull at least ten trucks and a brakevan or  four express coaches can you please make her a little stronger at least 15 trucks or seven coaches

??? ???  :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\  ::) ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

A) We've been through this, it is highly doubted that Bachmann will change a model and reproduce it just because a lack of weight.

B) As she is a single wheeled model, that seems about right. I think she can pull more than 2 trucks ( ::)) because I can get her to pull 6. I also think that it is slightly possible to get her to haul 2 express coaches. But she really has her coaches, so I would say she could pull 3 of them at an average.

In the end you could take Emily apart with a screwdriver and toss some weights inside. Be sure to put them above the powered drive wheels. Even a little makes a good difference. That's how I solved my James problem with weights (3 express coaches up a 3% grade!!! ( :P ;D)).

Cheers

But heres the thing, even if it was a van dont you think we would had a pic. of it by now considering Bachmann would probably use a ven. van, same for a grey truck. It could be a hopper like Hector or a bolster wagon like in the Henry's forrest episode.

I understand where you are coming from but you could kind of say that about Donald and Douglas... it is really only one shell being produced (body and tender), but there are still no pics or dates on their release. They were even announced at the same time as Bill and Ben. ::)

I also highly doubt it will be a bolster wagon. They never had faces... :P Wasn't sure why you would even consider that. There were no hoppers like Hector in any Thomas episode besides... well, Hector, and I think they would have announced "Hector" instead of Troublesome Truck #3. :P I am leaning towards a ventilated van or a gray truck again. I think it is taking longer because Bachmann is going for more accuracy with the TV series faces (from past judgement) and there are many truck faces to pick from. I would say there are at least 15 faces that were ever used on a common troublesome truck. :)

These are my thoughts and I chose to present them.  ;) ;D

The thing is i dont have a bsaement to put the layout in and the track wiring and most scnery is alreadin place also some the tracks are nailed to the table

Take out the nails..... ::) Where there isn't scenery, couldn't you do something? Almost all layouts have scenery removed and replaced with something else at some point. I don't even really have scenery and I'm removing foam hills and elevations everywhere I look. ;)

You said you wished you had sheds, and there are some options. ;D

I can really see this coming out:

My reason being that Bachmann is making more and more items from scratch nowadays, rather than pre-existing toolings.

Credit goes to SI3D I'm guessing. :P ;D I wouldn't mind another wagon, but I'm more concerned as to what the face will look like.

I know it will turn out good. After they got their heads above water with the Thomas range, Bachmann hasn't had a flaw yet. ;)

oh yeah i forgot about knapford sheds, hmm, yeah ill use that  ;D

and 1 question about knap. sheds how many lines are there?

From the image, I found 4 stalls in the shed.

That is incorrect. The picture only shows about half of the entire rectangular shed.

I have reason to believe it is 8, with it divided down the middle so there are 4 on each side with one track going next to the shed on both sides. 8 shed tracks, 2 side tracks.

The arrangement of tracks go like this (bare with me because of no picture):

1 Track /SPACE/ 3 tracks /SPACE/ 3 tracks /SPACE/ 1 track

Hope it all makes sense.

I wish I could have sheds on my layout, Its not that big and it only has two sidings. Unless i extend it to make another train yard Its a 8 by 4 incase your wondering

You could definitely fit more than that on your layout. I started with an 8 by 6 and I can see that you can easily have a 2 track loop with a small shunting yard or two, a station, and a shed without a turntable (Knapford Sheds?).

Speaking of soldering: one of my wires came out of James. Is there a special kind of solder to use to put it back into place or should I melt the existing so it can dry up and hold the wiring? I see where it goes and all, so some inquiries would help.

Thanks
Just regular rosin core solder, nothing special. If there is enough there, just melt the existing. All I can say is this, STAY AWAY FROM ACID CORE SOLDER FOR ELECTRICAL WORK!!!! The acid in the flux will corrode the system and it is not pretty.

Thanks.

I think I'll just melt the existing because or how small the wire is. I just hope that I don't melt the surrounding plastic or the frail electrical contacts in the process. :-\

notice how i said somewhat ;) it will have walls instead of supports

Why not be more accurate and use Knapford Sheds?

Whichever works for you... It's your layout.
