HO / Re: DCC CV'S

Paul,
If you are running Bachmann factory decoder equipped locomotives look at the Quick Start Guide for the locomotive and its CV list and you will see you are not missing out on anything important.

Not a Bachmann factory installed decoder equipped locomotive, then use its user's manual and if need be, its decoder CV list to determine what is assigned to Functions greater than F8.

If you are going to install decoders yourself then you are missing out on a long list of things.

The lighting in your DCC equipped Doodlebug is working as designed.

Headlight is directional and on/off dcc controllable. The interior lights are constant on when power is on track and are not controlled by the decoder,

The short straight included with the Bachmann HO # 5 and #6 turnout is 2.25" long.

With a Bachmann HO E-Z Track #5 turnout use
     one    2.25" straight item no 44513
     one  33.25" radius 12 degree curve track item no. 44509
to bring the divergent route back to parallel with the straight route.

       12 degree 33.25"
         /
      2.25"
      /
   #5 === 9" straight

I have not looked at #6 turnout but experiment using Item no. 44530 - one-third section 18" radius curved track in place of  Item 44509

General Discussion / Re: Dynamis Upgrade

Q: Does the Pro Box 36508 come with the Wireless Receiver 36509.
A: Yes, but beware an online site maybe selling used or just parts from opened package so you only get the PRO BOX unit

Q: What kind of distance or separation can I expect to get between the Handheld(s) 36507 and the Wireless Receiver 36509? Right now with the Basic Box 36505, if I get about 6ft away I lose the RF signal.

A: 6 FT
  By design -- You will get optimum performance out of the system holding the handset (transmitter) approximately one yard away from a receiver. Observation -- When testing the basic setup, I did not lose control until around 25 feet.

An aside -- Notwithstanding what you may read, the Dynamis Pro Box does not have a PC interface.

Thanks for the help! I would think the Bachman speaker would be compatible, but I will order one and find out.

SoundTraxx recommends the Tsunami2 TSU-PNP part number 885013 for the Bachmann HO GP7
This decoder the audio amplifier is 2 Watt, 8 Ohm load.  If the Bachmann speaker is 1 Watt, 8 Ohm, which it likely is,  speaker will be damaged.

Also ----
Click Here for Bachmann speaker and baffle parts for GP7. But it is without relevant specifications to determine if speaker is compatible with SoundTraxx Tsunami2 decoder.

Bach-man,

plug-in socket : NMRA medium 8-pin or what?

Speaker:
  Type: Single Driver
  Shape: Round
  Size:  30mm
  Power: .5 Watt (Nominal) 1 Watt (Peak)
  Impedance: 8 Ohms
Or what?

Does speaker have a baffle or does the tender shell function as baffle?

On30 / Re: Heisler

The decoder factory installed in the On30 Heisler does not support directional dim.

Assuming related CVs are at their factory default value. You can manually toggle the headlight effect between bright and dim by pressing Function 9 (F9) by programming,
CV39 = 128
CV49 = 129

This will have no effect on the Backup light

Don't want to use F9, which Function would you prefer? There is a restriction on which CVs support Dim.

If the above does not work, what are you using to program CVs?

The E-Z Command Control Center will operate  any factory decoder equipped E-Z Command Turnout but not any other turnout brands.

Click Here for Bachmann Remote Turnout instructions.

Sometimes overlooked,  if you have type A slide switch is the need to press to activate the switch machine installed in the turnout.  While the press down on the black slide switch must be released quickly, it needs to be firm.

Hunt, do you have any reason to believe there will be more than just one speaker in the tender?

. . .

Greg

Depends on which product info supplied by Bachmann is used

If product print ads is correct -  it will one speaker factory installed in tender.  Locomotive equipped with Pittman DC motor  (no  information about motor or speaker).

Also,  I surmise the electronic will be the equivalent as used in the Large Scale Bachmann K-27.
