You can not "upload" pictures to this sight. They must be hosted elsewhere and then can be posted here.

My GE 45 ton finally arrived. It is BIG! I had some clearance issues to address. I runs great. I plan on leaving it track powered for the time being. I want to see about retro fitting Kadee couplers on it.  ;D

Hi Joe and Bill;
Joe I put the exploded parts diagram in the mail this morning.  For what it's worth, the original info on the 45 ton switchers call for a recommended 8 foot diameter circle of track, however I have run them just fine on the 24" radius track,  Enjoy.
Chuck
Chuck,

I have a copy of the article that appeared in Model Railroader November 2003 issue by Jim Hediger. It is a review of this new Bachmann model. It says the minimum radius is 24 inches (4 foot diameter) and it can easily negotiate the sharp curves commonly found on industrial railroads.

On a side note, I have an Aristo RS-3 that easily negotiates my R1 switches better than my 4-6-0 Big Haulers, so I'm not the least bit worried about this 45 tonner handling them well..

Are there any tricks to installing the ball bearings so that they do not go flying?

Big Pine RR

Put the truck inside a large (gallon size) zip lock bag and work inside it. It will catch anything that wants to go airborne.  ;D

Joe;
Did you find a parts diagram yet? If not, I have an extra one I can mail you if you email me your address.
Incidentally, they made four different versions; yellow undecorated, red undecorated, black Midwest Quarry and black AT&SF.
Chuck

Chuck,
Thanks. Check your messages on this site as I cannot see your email address(it's hidden from my view).

Oops, my bad. You are absolutely correct. .332 not 3/32.

The standard gauge for large scale trains is 45mm. The code 332 brass track will be closer to that figure than your tin track. Don't worry your trains are made for that track. It is also compatible with all other brands of track. BTW 332 means it is 3/32 of an inch tall. There is lighter (smaller0 track out there so stick with code 332 and you will be fine.  ;D

Not normal. What is the blinking light under the boiler forward of the front driver? Check it out. It could be sparking from rubbing on wire to the headlight or smoke unit.

Bill,
Can you give me a little Bachmann history of this loco? I found one and purchased it and it's on it's way to me. #81899
